Playa Guiones Surf Cam

Watching Playa Guiones, live

This camera looks out over Playa Guiones, the long beach break that made Nosara a surf town. You can follow the swell lines rolling in from the Pacific, see how the sets are breaking across the sandbars, and get a feel for the crowd before you paddle out. Conditions here change quickly — what looks small at sunrise can be shoulder-high by lunch.

Best times to watch

The cam runs during daylight hours, Costa Rica time (GMT-6). Mornings are usually glassier, with offshore winds holding the waves up; afternoons tend to be choppier but warmer. Pair the cam with a tide chart before you commit to a session — Guiones works on most tides, but the sandbars shift through the year, and the best banks move with them.
