The term “Nosara” is commonly used to refer to the larger Nosara area which encompasses a series of beaches and neighborhoods to be further explained below. Nosara is the name of the area’s main village which is located at a 10-minute drive from world-famous Playa Guiones. The local airport and most convenience stores are all located in Nosara town, which is also where most of the local population lives.

PLAYA GUIONES

Guiones Beach is by far the most famous and desired destination in the area. A growing and upscale beach town on its own featuring a stunning 4.5-mile-long coastline with some of the best surf breaks in the world, luxury hotels, multiple yoga studios, exclusive retreat centers and residential areas, a large variety of restaurants, trendy boutiques, and characterized by a focus on health-conscious living.

Neighboring Guiones, just at a 5 min drive you will find Pelada beach, a fast-growing and also very desired area. Mostly residential but with a growing number of retail spaces. Pelada is best understood as an extension of Guiones.

Overlooking Guiones beach, located at a 5 min drive from the main Guiones strip, offering some of the best ocean views and known as the most upscale area, Huacas is a mainly residential neighborhood with some of the most beautiful properties in Nosara.

PLAYA GARZA

A relaxed and laid back yet increasingly popular and growing neighborhood, Garza beach could be best described as a charming beachfront Costa Rican village conveniently located just a short 12 min drive from Guiones beach. Garza offers a small number of restaurants and it’s a great option for those looking for a more authentic and local experience.
